Step 1: Gather information for each user.

Each user has a set of credentials which will be needed to configure each phone. For each phone that you are configuring, obtain the following:

  • SIP Address (Address of Record)
  • SIP Password
  • Auth Username
  • Username
  • Domain
  • Outbound Proxy

You can find this information in the user detail pages under the Users tab in your OnSIP Admin Portal.

Step 2: Download Bria from the Android Market.

From the home screen, touch Market --> Search. Search for "Bria Softphone", and purchase.

Step 3: Configure OnSIP Hosted PBX user account information.

Select OnSIP from the list of Accounts (it's in alphabetical order).  Click on "OnSIP" and a new screen opens "Account Details".  Enter in your credentials:

  • Account Name > OnSIP (already listed)
  • Display As > Caller ID
  • Username > Username
  • Password > SIP Password (case sensitive)
  • Domain > Proxy/Domain

NOTE: to edit, uncheck Account name, then select Account Advanced to edit Authorization Name and Domain

Next go into 'Account Advanced' at the bottom the 'Account Settings' Page. Uncheck 'Global IP'. 'Single Register' makes sure that the softphone unregisters before re-registering. Make sure that the 'SIP Transport' method is 'UDP' and that 'Encrypt Audio' is set to 'Never'.

Step 4: Configure Codec

Under 'Advanced Options' select 'wifi codec' and then select only the following:

  • G711u
  • G711a
  • G722

No other codec should be selected.

Troubleshooting - OPTIONAL

Some times we see phones that have problems with extension to extension call setup. This is typically shown as a "404 Error" on the Bria phone. If that is the case, try turning off the PRACK feature. Under "Advanced Settings" Scroll to the bottom. Select "Show Miscellaneous" under "SIP Miscellaneous". Un-select "Enable PRACK". Scroll down and "Apply Changes."
