Migrating SIP Domain

Read about OnSIP SIP Hosting to find out more about SIP domains and SRV records.

If you have correctly configured a SIP SRV record for you domain, the OnSIP account page may be used to migrate all of your SIP addresses to your own domain.

Note: Once you migrate your SIP domain, all of your phones must be reconfigured with your new addresses.

Updating your Domain:

  1. Navigate to the "Account" page in the OnSIP Admin Portal and click "Migrate SIP Domain":

    Migrate SIP domain

  2. In the form that appears, select the radio button, "Use your own private domain", and enter your domain into the text box:

    Enter private domain

  3. Read and accept the confirmation that appears:

    Read and accept confirmation

If your SRV record has been properly configured for your domain, then all of your SIP addresses will be automatically rewritten as addresses in your domain. You will immediately be able to receive calls to addresses like address@yourdomain.com.
