Step 1: Gather information for each user.
Each user has a set of credentials which will be needed to configure each phone. For each phone that you are configuring, obtain the following:
- "SIP Address" (Address of Record)
- "SIP Password"
- "Auth Username"
- "Outbound Proxy"
You can find this information in the user detail pages under the "Users" tab in your OnSIP Admin Portal.
Step 2: Download Linphone from the App Store.
From the home screen, touch "App Store" --> "Search". Search for "Linphone", and download.
Step 3: Set up OnSIP Hosted PBX user account information.
Select "Use SIP Account"
Step 4: Enter Your SIP Credentials
Enter in your credentials in the fields on these pages as follows:
- Username > "Username"
- Password > "SIP Password"
- Domain > "Proxy/Domain"
- Display Name > "whatever you'd like here"
- Transport > "UDP"
Step 5: Configure Audio Codec
Select "Audio" tab and then only the following codec:
Once done depress the left arrow to go back to Settings page.
Step 6: Configure Network Settings
Select "Network" tab from Settings page. Turn 'off' ICE, 'Allow IPv6' and 'Edge optimization' settings - see image below:
Once done depress the left arrow to go back to Settings page.Your registration WILL FAIL - you're almost done.
Step 7: Configure Outbound Proxy and Final Credentials
Click on the name of the account you created under Settings page (here it's Example)
- Outbound Proxy"Slide to ON"
- User ID"Auth Username"
- Account Enabled"Slide to ON"
Your softphone is now registered.
