Issue
If the X-Lite or Eyebeam phone takes over 30 seconds to register and cannot make outbound calls, the issue is typically DNS related. The X-Lite/Eyebeam phone does a DNS lookup for 30 seconds to the primary DNS server on the PC. If that DNS server address is, itself, not a 'real' DNS server, e.g. it is the gateway router, then the x-lite will attempt to obtain a successful DNS lookup for exactly 30 seconds. At the end of 30 seconds it will attempt a DNS lookup from another DNS provider and that will work immediately.
Solutions
The best solution is to have a 'real' DNS server listed as the primary DNS server for the PC.
If that is not an option, you can hard-code DNS servers into the x-lite/Eyebeam. To do that, right-click on the application and choose "Options". At the bottom of the left side panel choose "Advanced". Click on "Network" and enter a primary and secondary DNS server. Contact your ISP to find the DNS servers that they recommend.
(Using the OnSIP name servers, ns1.jnctn.net and ns2.jnctn.net is not recommended as they will only return DNS information regarding OnSIP domains.)
