Quick Start

User Details

Recommended Process
1. Set the 5220 to boot into SIP mode ( 2 ways to do this below )
2. Reset phone to factory default settings ( steps below )
3. Find the phone's IP address. ( press superkey, then button 1 in lower
right )
4. log into web interface at http://IP_address user:admin pass:5220
5. go to the QUICK START interface and enter the onsip settings similar
to the settings above.
6. check the onsip web interface to see that your phone is registered in
your name properly. Similar to the correct registration example above.
7. upgrade to the latest firmware SIPphones_7.2.0.4 ( Links to firmware
below... grab them before they dissapear) You will need to configure the
phone to point to a TFTP server to download/install the firmware. Settings
are in phone's web interface under PROTOCOLS to turn on TFTP and NETWORK
SETTINGS to specify the TFTP server.
*SET 5220 TO SIP MODE OPTION 1*
1. Disconnect the power from the set.
2. Hold down the "*Superkey*" (or "*Menu*" key with some paper inserts)
while powering up the set.
3. The set will come up and ask if you want to CONFIGURE PHONE? select
YES.
4. "NETWORK PARAMETERS?" select NO
5. "HARDWARE CONFIG?" select NO
6. "PHONE MODE?" select YES
7. "PROTOCOL?" select YES
8. "PHONE MODE: Minet" select Change
9. Select "SIP", "Accept" and confirm with "Yes". It will now save the
settings to NVram
10. "REBOOT NOW?" select Yes
*SET 5220 TO SIP MODE OPTION 2*
1. Disconnect the power from the set.
2. Hold down the "7" key while powering up the set.
3. The set will come up and ask if you want to CONFIGURE PHONE? select
YES.
4. "NETWORK PARAMETERS?" select NO
5. "HARDWARE CONFIG?" select NO
6. "PHONE MODE?" select YES
7. "PROTOCOL?" select YES
8. "PHONE MODE: Minet" select Change
9. Select "SIP", "Accept" and confirm with "Yes". It will now save the
settings to NVram
10. "REBOOT NOW?" select Yes
Set Message Waiting Indicator
You can enable the "Message Waiting" indicator on the phone to flash to show new voicemail messages. The setting is not included in the quickstart page. To add this feature do the following:
1. log into the web interface and select the USER LIST CONFIG link.
2. click your name/account
3. enter YOURDOMAIN.onsip.com in the *Voice Mail Server: field
4. make sure the port is set to 5060 and SCHEME set to UDP

To Restore Factory Default Settings:
* 1. Press both Up and Down Arrow keys simultaneously while powering up the
phone. *NETWORK SETTINGS? *appears
2. Press *NO *until *TOOLS & FEATURES *appears and then press *YES*.
3. Press NO until *RESTORE DEFAULTS? *appears and then press *YES*.
4. Press *CONFIRM*. The phone resets with default settings.
