Where to Add Digit Map / Dial Plan using OnSIP Boot Server
As part of adding your Polycom phone to the boot server, the field called "Custom Digit Map" is where the following digit map/dial plan would be added.
Default Digit Map
The default digit map in our boot server is: [4379]11|011xxx.T|[1][2-9]xxxxxxxxx|[2-9]xxx|*44|*45|*94|*98|*xxxx
Prepending a "1" to calls
To prepend a "1" to a dialed number, you would use the 'R' (replace) command in the Polycom Digitmap field. You dial 10 digits and the phone will pre-pend a 1 in front for a total of 11 digits. For example:
For Polycom SoundPoint IP phones, sip software 2.1 or later (tested varies versions up to 3.0.2.0972)
For systems with 4 Digit Extensions, as long as the extensions start with a 2,3,4,5,6, or 7.
[2-9]11T|0T|011xxx.T|[0-1][2-9]xxxxxxxxx|RR1RxxxxxxxxxxT|[2-9]xxxT|*xx
Prepending Area Code
To prepend an area code to a dialed number, you would use the 'R' (replace) command in the Polycom Digitmap field. For example:
For Polycom SoundPoint IP phones, sip software 2.1 or later (tested varies versions up to 3.0.2.0972)
Substitute 615 for your area code in the following examples.
For systems with 4 Digit Extensions, as long as the extensions start with a 2,3,4,5,6, or 7.
[2-9]11T|0T|011xxx.T|[0-1][2-9]xxxxxxxxx|RR1615RxxxxxxxT|[2-9]xxxT|*xx
If using your own boot server, enter the following under "Digit Map Timeout". There is no "Digit Map Timeout" on the OnSIP boot server.
2|2|2|3|3|3|3
For systems with 3 Digit Extensions, as long as the extensions start with a 2,3,4,5,6, or 7.
[2-9]11T|0T|011xxx.T|[0-1][2-9]xxxxxxxxx|RR1615RxxxxxxxT|[2-9]xxT|*xx
Using Your Own Boot Server
If using your own boot server, enter the following under "Digit Map Timeout". There is no "Digit Map Timeout" on the OnSIP boot server.
2|2|2|3|3|3|3
The downside of the edited digit map relative to the default digit map is that with the default digit map everything you dial is enacted upon immediately. With the edited digit map there is a 2-3 second delay between when you dial an number and when the call is sent to OnSIP.
Prepending 011 for International Calls
For our International customers looking to not have to dial 011, you can use this string:
[2-9]11T|0T|011xxx.T|[0-1][2-9]xxxxxxxxx|R8,R01147Rxxxxxxx.T|[2-9]xxT|*xx
You dial "8" followed by the local number, we then remove the 8 and replace it with 01147 (or whatever country code you want). The "." at the end allows the number you dial to be any length 7 digits or longer.
(Thanks Matt!)
Updated March 2017 - MDO - Added Prepend "1"
