OnSIP only has experience in configuring the Fanvil H5, Fanvil X5S, Fanvil X4G, and the Fanvil i30. We have not actually used them in-house. If you need information on the functionality of these phones, please reach out to the phone manufacturer and/or their User Guide.
This device must be manually configured. Do not add MAC Address to Resources.
Step 1: Gather information for each user
Each user has a set of credentials which will be needed to configure each device. For each device that you are configuring, obtain the following from the User tab in your OnSIP Admin Portal:
- "SIP Address" (Address of Record)
- "SIP Password"
- "Auth Username"
- "Username"
- "Domain"
- "Outbound Proxy"
You can find this information in the "User" tab, click on User's name the device will be configured to expand boxes, "Phone Configuration" box:
Step 2: Factory Reset Fanvil Phone
Follow the steps below to factory reset your Fanvil device in order to bring back the factory default settings. This must be done before provisioning your Fanvil phone in case the device has residual settings of a previous configuration.
* Fanvil H5: Unplug from power, if using POE - unplug. Press and hold the # key and plug back in power or POE. Continue to hold until screen prompts Post Mode. Enter * # 1 6 8 phone will clear and reset. You will need to unplug/plug phone back into power or POE to continue to next step. The device does not reboot on its own.
* Fanvil X5S: Unplug from power, if using POE - unplug. Plug back in power or POE. Press and hold # right after the Red Light blinks (the light in the lower right of phone) for about 10seconds and then release. A few moments later, the screen prompts Post Mode enter, now press * # 1 6 8. The phone will tell you it's clearing and that it's been reset. Phone will restart. Upon phone restarting it will ask you to select a Language.
* Fanvil X4G: Unplug from power, if using POE-unplug. Press and hold # and then plug in power or POE connection. "Post Mode" appears on screen enter * # 1 6 8 phone will clear and reset. The phone does not restart, you will have to again unplug/replug in the phone. It's actually easier if you factory reset this phone through the web interface.
* Fanvil i30 (door buzzer):
- Leave plugged into Ethernet
- Press and hold the # key for 10-count and release
- The device will read back it's IP address
- Go to a browser and enter IP address
- Log into device: User: admin Password: admin
- System tab > Configuration tab > click RESET > you will hear a beep indicating it's resetting
Step 2: Log into your device through a web browser
Enter IP address in your browser. In next screen type in the following to access Admin panel for phones:
User: admin Password: admin
* Fanvil H5: Press and hold the # button. If you press the speakerphone the phone will repeat the IP to you if not, it will be displayed on the screen itself.
* Fanvil X5S: On phone screen, press Menu button > Status icon >IPv4 Address is what you need
* Fanvil X4G: On phone screen, press Menu button > Status > IP Address is what you need
* Fanvil i30 (door buzzer): Press and hold the # button for a 10-count, release. The device will repeat the IP to you.
Step 3: Enter your user information from Step 1
All four (4) of these models are different in their configuration. Scroll through to find both the written directions as well as the screenshot(s) for the specific model:
You should see the word (admin) in the upper right of your screen. If you do not, you are not logged into the Admin portion and cannot edit as needed.
* Fanvil H5: Line tab > SIP tab >Basic Settings
Username > Username
Display Name > Whatever You'd Like
Authentication Name > Auth Username
Authentication Password > SIP Password
Server Name > Username
SIP Proxy Server Address > Domain
Outbound Proxy Add. > sip.onsip.com
Next, put a checkmark in Activate and then press Apply. Your Line Status will read: Registered and your User in User tab of OnSIP Admin Portal will show "Online"
* Fanvil X5S: Line tab > SIP tab >Register Settings
Server Address > Domain
Authentication User > Auth Username
Authentication Password >SIP Password
Username > Username
Display Name > Whatever You'd Like
SIP Proxy Server Address > sip.onsip.com
Next, put a checkmark in Activate and then press Apply. Your Line Status will read: Registered and your User in User tab of OnSIP Admin Portal will show "Online"
* Fanvil X4G: Line tab > SIP tab > Basic Settings
Username > Username
Display Name > Whatever You'd Like
Authentication User > Auth Username
Authentication Password >SIP Password
SIP Proxy Server Address > Domain
