RXT SME

OnSIP only has experience in configuring the RXT 8660 SME.  We have not actually used them in-house.  If you need information on the functionality of these phones, please reach out to the phone manufacturer and/or their User Guide.

This device must be manually configured.  Do not add MAC Address to Resources.

Step 1: Gather information for each user

Each user has a set of credentials which will be needed to configure each device. For each device that you are configuring, obtain the following from the User tab in your OnSIP Admin Portal:

  • "SIP Address" (Address of Record)
  • "SIP Password"
  • "Auth Username"
  • "Username"
  • "Domain"
  • "Outbound Proxy"

You can find this information in the "User" tab, click on User's name the device will be configured to expand boxes, "Phone Configuration" box:

Step 2: Factory Reset the Base Station

Follow the steps below to factory reset your device in order to bring back the factory default settings. This must be done before provisioning your phone in case the device has residual settings of a previous configuration.

  1. Before powering on the base station hold in the reset button for 15 seconds​​​

  2. Power on the base station

  3. The LED on the front of the will turn solid RED

  4. After 15 seconds let go of the reset button and the LED will start to intermittently flash ORANGE

  5. The LED will turn GREEN once the reset is complete.

Step 2: Log into your device through a web browser

Enter IP address in your browser and use the following default credentials:

Default Username: admin     Default Password: changeme

 

Step 3: Enter your user information from Step 1

In admin.onsip.com/Users, click on the User you plan to configure this device to expand boxes.  Modify the SIP Address so that it matches the Username listed under the Phone Details Box

Next, in the phone's web browser >Servers >Server 1:

Registrar > Username
Outbound Proxy > sip.onsip.com 
ReRegistration Time(s) > 3600
SIP Transport > UDP
Codec Priority > G711U, G711A

Scroll to the bottom of the page and Save.

Select Extension tab >Edit Extension:

Line Name > Whatever You Want
Handset > You Select from Dropdown Menu
Extension > Username
Authentication User Name > Auth Username
Authentication Password > SIP Password
Display Name > Whatever You Want
Server > Server 1:yourdomain.onsip.com (select from dropdown menu)

Your Line Status will read: Registered and your User in User tab of OnSIP Admin Portal will show "Online"
