Before you get started with OnSIP Messaging, your business must be registered with The Campaign Registry (TCR), a reputation authority for business messaging that was created to reduce sources of spam. Registering with TCR legitimizes your business as a credible source of communication and prevents your messages from being blacklisted by new industry regulations.
Successful registration with TCR is mandatory. Messages can not be sent or received until the successful completion and approval by TCR. OnSIP only facilitates the action and can not influence or expedite it.
During registration, you’ll need to provide the following information:
- Company name/phone/address
- Website or relevant URL (must include a privacy policy with specific details about SMS messaging)
- Business type
- Country of registration
- Company Employer Identification Number (EIN)
- Contact name/email/phone
- Description of intended usage for messaging
- Sample messages
- Phone numbers to enable for messaging
Important- Be sure to match the address and business type information that is registered with the IRS for the EIN in the form. Using free email service addresses(i.e. @gmail.com, @hotmail.com)may be rejected. Any email that looks like a distribution email will most likely be rejected, try using an individual's email address with the business domain. It is best practice to use an email with your business domain.
A sample privacy policy can be found here Sample Privacy Policy
Form completion takes 15-30 mins or less, and processing is completed by the carriers (typically 7-10 business days). Businesses that do not comply are at risk of having their messages blocked.
