Polycom RealPresence Trio 8800

As of October, 2019, the Trio 8500 and 8800 can be provisioned using our boot server. More info here- https://support.onsip.com/hc/en-us/articles/204028680-Polycom-Boot-Server

This document is for manual configuration of Trios- we highly recommend using our boot server.

Step 1: Gather information for each user.

Each user has a set of credentials which will be needed to configure each phone. For each phone that you are configuring, obtain the following:

  • "SIP Address" (Address of Record)
  • "SIP Password"
  • "Auth Username"
  • "Username"
  • "Proxy/Domain"

You can find this information in the user detail pages under the Users tab in the "Phone Configuration" section.

Phone configuration section

Step 2: Log into your Polycom phone through a web browser

    1. You will need the IP address of the polycom device. Press the following to see current IP: Status > Platform > Network > TCP/IP Parameters and scroll to find IP.  Take note of the IP address. You will need it later. Typical IP address is something like 192.x.x.x or 10.x.x.x for example.  If the phone will not connect, you may need to change the phone to HTTP from HTTPS.  Menu/Settings/Advanced/Administration/Web Server Configuration/  Web Server On and Web Server Mode to HTTP Only.
    2. Open a web browser on the computer on the same network as the Polycom device. Type the following into the browser address bar to access the web-based configuration portal:
http://(polycom IP address) where the (Polycom IP address) is the IP address you obtained in Step 1 above.

    3. Admin login: Username > Polycom (note capital "P") is Password > 456

**OnSIP strongly encourages customers to change this universal password after the phone has been registered**
