Portability check

Your account admin can use our free portability checker tool to verify whether you can port (transfer) your existing phone number to OnSIP. To use the tool, simply sign in to the admin portal, click ADMINISTRATORS in the top right corner, then click PHONE NUMBERS on the left side menu. You may need to scroll down to view the Portability check feature if you have a large list of phone numbers already in your OnSIP account.

Click the Check number portability button and enter the local or toll free number(s) that you're interested in transferring to OnSIP. You can check up to 1000 numbers at a time by entering a list with one number per line. Please be sure to include a valid area code. You may include a 1 before the 10 digit phone number and receive results. The check portability button will turn blue once you've entered a valid number. Click the button to view your results below.

Below is a sample validation that shows a portable and non-portable number. The notes column in your results would show why a number is not currently portable to OnSIP.

Once you confirmed that your number can be transferred to OnSIP, you can submit a port request ticket by clicking the Port a number button in the section directly below your results.

Your portable numbers will automatically be entered into the Phone number(s) to port box and you simply need to enter your contact information and desired port completion date. Click the blue review and submit button once you're ready to submit your port request ticket. A member of our porting team will respond to your ticket and request a current phone bill copy (proof of ownership) and have you digitally sign the LOA (authorization) form. More information about the porting process can be found in our Porting Numbers to OnSIP guide.
